Uncle Ardie

Uncle Ardie is a fixture in my childhood.  When we were little we would go to the dentist in Pleasant Grove and stop and Uncle Ardie's house and visit his apple orchard.  He and his wife, Aunt Bea, were always kind, gracious, happy, and glad to see us.  We loved playing on their tree swing.  We loved hearing stories.  We loved eating good apples.  It has been a long time since I have been to Ardie's orchard.  Probably 10 years.  (We did attend his 90th birthday party earlier this year where he fully remembered me, pulled me in close and whispered things about my family and mothering skills that made me cry instantly.)

This building is ever ingrained in my memory. (oh yeah, and Aunt Lindsey didn't want to pass up an opportunity to visit with Uncle Ardie either)

Favorite picture ever.

My kids enjoying the apples
And Paige wishing she were somewhere else:)

We chatted about apple trees, life.. Ardie's and in general, his beloved wife Bea, Ardie's immaculate house cleaning skills and business.  I learned a lot.  Very usual for a visit with Ardie.

I also figured out that he is not my Uncle Ardie.  He is my Grandfather's cousin.  Oh yes, and he taught me about the strength of my Grandfather and his family.  Oh how I love this man.  Even Marcus distinctly remembers him from our wedding reception.  That is just how he is.

I'm exhausted at just reading your blog. You must be super woman to be fixing up a home with four kids, not to mention everything you did prior to moving into your home. WOW!
