We received a last minute call from our wonderful friends, the Petts, on Christmas Eve. Such a great Christmas gift! We were thrilled to have a quick visit with them and their adorable baby girls. Marcus and Josh were in the same grad program at Purdue and Teresa was my visiting teacher, neighbor, and good friend. It was so wonderful to catch up with them. So wonderful.
Our Christmas Eve table setting. It is always fun to do a special meal. The kids get into it and really help out. These are the only pictures I have of Christmas. I am hoping Marcus has more on his phone. I will have to add those later.
We read from the scriptures and acted out Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem. Of course we had to act it out twice as we have two girls that both needed the chance to be Mary. Reagan had been begging to have Nativity Rehearsals because we read The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and my mom took the kids to see the play as well. We never managed to pull off a rehearsal but had an enjoyable evening still.
Cookies were made and left for Santa. Kids went to bed easily and happily. Marcus and I even made it to bed at a reasonable hour. My mom was still sick - from us - but other than that we were all healthy which was huge considering we had been sick for the three weeks previous. (10 days later I came down with the nasty sickness and Paige fought it for about a week as well but we were healthy for Christmas!)
We had planned to spend some of the day at Scott and Becky's but when it came down to it, we were enjoying being at home and playing together so we opted to enjoy the day at home.
