Will's 1st Birthday

It was so great to be near family for Will's birthday. A few of our traditions were skipped but Will didn't no the difference... or care. I love this picture with Aunt Lindsey.

Will's presents came from Grandma and Grandpa. We never even made it shopping to let the girls get him something. It was a little crazy hosting company and going on vacation at the same time. Luckily, Grandma and Grandpa never fail and this little guy LOVED his gifts.

These pictures crack me up because everyone was trying to help, but the poor kid just wanted his truck.

One tradition we were able to keep; decorating the cake together. This was the first time Ainsley joined in. They really worked hard.

Considering that it was cooked at the neighbors last minute (oven was just a tiny bit too small to fit the weird pan) and that I forgot to buy or make black or white frosting for eyes, ears, nose etc and that the girls helped.. a lot.. I think it turned out perfect!

Will getting ready to watch everyone else blow out his candle.

This kid suprised us all when he burst out crying after the Happy Birthday song. I guess it was too much noise for him. He had no interest in the cake. It took a ton of coaxing before there was any enjoyment.

but he finally did get into it

and then right back out of it.

He did end up happy though.

And this is my handsome little guy at one. The one birthday present he got from Mom was a haircut. Finally! My mom begged me not to cut his hair before we arrived and it about killed me. I love his short hair and how grown up it makes him look. What a cutie!!!

How cute is he? Looks like you guys had a great time in Utah. So sorry we missed you. Maybe next trip? Thanksgiving anyone? We miss your adorable girls and you and Marcus as well. Hope all is well in Minnesota!
