Camping in Utah

Aunt Lindsey suggested sleeping in a tent with the girls in the backyard but we decided we would rather take advantage of the great Utah mountains and lack of bugs and go camping.

It was an adventure to say the least. Ainsley got carsick on the drive up and ended up throwing up. When the first car arrived at the desired campsite, we found out it was closed (gated and all) so Plan B was quickly enforced. We turned around to head back to a campground we had already passed just as one of the vehicles broke down. Luckily it just overheated and after a 45 minute break made the drive just fine.

When we arrived, we quickly unloaded the vehicle and started the fire for dinner. As soon as Grandpa arrived (with the recovered vehicle) he started cleaning Ainsley car seat. That was all the girls needed to start their own washing fun. We had the cleanest rocks in the entire area!

There is nothing quite like hanging out in a Utah campground. Perfect temperatures, scenery, smells... you get the idea.

Daddy was very happy with his job.

It was a close finish for who enjoyed the trip the most but I think this little guy came out on top. He was in dirt HEAVEN!

And of course, the girls loved topping the evening off with smores.

This was my concern of the evening but he went to sleep just fine. He did however move around all night long. Next time I will make space for a pack n play.

Oh that picture does not due the dirty boy justice. He was WAY dirtier than that. I remember trying to think of how to keep him from rolling his food in the dirt then eating it. Ugh. That was a fun night. Next time we need to go for longer.
