This year the 4th of July fell on Sunday so we did a small scale celebration on the 3rd. Our ward had a breakfast at Long Lake park and the kids had a fun time playing with friends and then swimming with Daddy.
Marcus played the guitar while the primary kids sang "My Flag My Flag".

Later in the day Grandma and Grandpa Darrington arrived from their mission in Florida. We were very excited to see them. Grandma joined us that evening for a firework adventure into the great unknown. We went to a little town called Marine on the St. Crouix. It is in the middle of nowhere. We made it though and watched a great little firework show. I hope the kids remember these times. It is a lot of work for a little excitement but I keep reminding myself that the traditions we are building are worth it.
Next year: We WILL be in Utah for the 4th. (Of course we said that last year too:))
