We hiked the Y twice in March. The first time was more of an attempted hike. Marcus, Will, and I made it to switchback 7 (out of 11) before Will had a full meltdown and we decided to head back down. A few minutes later Reagan joined us. Ainsley and Grandpa kept going and made it to switchback 10. Grandpa tried to convince Ainsley to finish it off but she wasn't interested. It was fun to get out and amazingly, hiking up causes me no pain at all. Down, is a little different.
It looks comfy but this 2 year old is about 15 pounds too heavy (and waaay too tall) for this rider and he didn't like it after a few minutes.
On our second attempt, two weeks later, Aunt Lindsey joined us. She was a huge help. She hiked with the girls, gave Will a piggy back ride for a couple of switchbacks, and helped me get off the mountain.
We did it! I was 21 weeks pregnant. Doesn't seem like much but I have had sciatic pain since week 6 of this pregnancy. I felt really great until the last half going down. I had to step sideways the last 2 switchbacks just to make sure my legs didn't buckle.
