A New Visitor

In high school Marcus worked at Wyoming Work Warehouse and Frank was his boss. Marcus became good friends with Frank and his wife Tammi and would hang out with them and their two kids A LOT. They were his second family.

Before Will was born Marcus and I were chatting one night and he was telling me story after story about Frank and Tammi. I suggested he invite Tammi out after Will was born and he jumped on the opportunity. Lucky for us, Tammi was up for it as well.

The only sad part to her visit was the absence of pictures taken by yours truly... and the farewell of course.

Tammi was a huge help to us! Not only did she love our kids and think they were as adorable as we do, but she is a woman after my own heart and loves to organize. Once this was discovered the project list was longer than the time remaining. Somehow, Tammi managed to organize our closets (desperately needed), organize toys (with the creation of a wardrobe for Miss Reagan's plethora of dress ups), and clean up our entryway and front door(paint, paint, and more paint).

It was such a blessing to us because we were TIRED of house projects. Burned out is just not strong enough. Now, every time we walk into our spiffy entryway we feel energized to keep going. Seriously. She also tried to convince us that we ARE capable of replacing our trim ourselves (but we are still out on that one:)). She also discovered a Pier 1 near our home which will become my "time away from kids" place.

A few fun things happened while she was visiting. Reagan was asked to give her first primary talk. This is her practicing Sunday morning.

and this is Ainsley keeping herself busy while Reagan is practicing.

The actual talk was adorable to me. I am big on letting kids write their own talks and Reagan did a fabulous job. We were very proud of her.

We also had tornadoes during Tammi's visit to remind her of life in the Midwest. I think we ended up under the stairs for 2 1/2 hours during Ainsley's nap time. It was like heaven to have another adult helping with that crazy afternoon.
Marcus and Tammi stayed up late reminiscing several evenings and Tammi listened to me chat on and on during the day. It was so nice to have another adult in the house full-time!

Although she claims cooking isn't her best attribute, Tammi made caramel corn that was so yummy, lasagna that Marcus requested and loved (a memory from the old days), and a super delish chicken crock pot recipe.
We are so glad she was able to come love our new baby and hang out with us. Our home is homier and our daily workload was substantially lighter. Marcus just commented two days ago about how easy it is to forget how many dishes we have when other people are doing them.
This visit left us looking forward to more frequent visits with this awesome family. Hopefully we will be able to hang out in Idaho Falls next time!

Thanks Tammi!!!

I want a disclaimer by that picture at the beginning - it was taken on the 95th floor of the Hancock Building in Chicago - needless to say I am scared of heights! ALSO, WHO WOULDN'T THINK YOU CHILDREN ARE ADORABLE? You guys are awesome - good times.
