No Stone Left Unturned

Grandpa joined us for the second week of Grandma's visit and the girls LOVED having the full attention of TWO grandparents.

A tired group ready for bed.

During the Grandparent's visit we had our first production from the garden. Our first "cumber" as Ainsley calls it.

One of the fun things we did to entertain the girls was swimming. Ainsley had a blast playing with Grandma in the shallow water and Reagan kept Grandpa company in the deeper water. One of the memories of this outing is when Reagan was "helped" to dive for a water toy by a new friend at the pool. The little girl (about 6 years old) put her arms around Reagan from behind and then dumped her forward forcing Reagan's body underneath the other girl's body (to help her stay under of course:)). Luckily, Grandpa was keeping a watchful eye and Reagan is a good sport.

I couldn't resist snapping a picture of this adorable little guy while watching the girls swim.

How can you not LOVE those toes?

Whenever Grandpa comes to visit our home improves by leaps and bounds. Marcus and I work pretty much continually but my Dad really lights our fire and the extra set of knowledgeable hands really makes a difference. This visit was no exception. The two big projects were the fence outside and installing the doors in our basement rooms. We also had a ton of little projects that were half finished or final touches that needed to be completed. After my parents left Marcus started saying, "No stone left unturned" because my dad pretty much completed any little thing he noticed needing attention.
These are pictures from the beginning stage of the fence project. Marcus found a frog and he and Reagan had a great time holding it. Marcus also did the girls hand prints in one of the cement post areas. Cute idea but I told him not to get too attached because I would leave it in a heartbeat to live near family again.

There were two fun childhood memories that I had surface during this visit. One was watching my dad paint neckerchief tie things for scouting every year. I remember him being detailed in his painting or at least taking his time to do a good job. This came up because Reagan would ask Grandpa to paint with her but she would get bored long before Grandpa could finish his picture so it was often Grandpa painting by himself. For some reason this cracked me up. He would be painting long after the kids had quit.
The other memory is push-ups. Growing up my dad always did push-ups with us three kids sitting on his back. After I had graduated high school he did the same for a family he home taught except they were 4 husky Polynesian boys. This was the first visit that Reagan and Ainsley had the same experience. It was fun to watch.

The birthday cake for Grandpa's belated birthday celebration. Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

We were able to bless Will on August 2nd. It was a beautiful day and we were very glad to have my parents here for the special occasion and we really missed Grandma and Grandpa Darrington who are serving a mission in Florida. Grandma Darrington sent a beautiful blanket that she made for the special day. Will was great and didn't cry at all. The blessing was beautiful.

I just love this little guy! Isn't he adorable?
