The last week has been so strange for me. It is the first time in 3.5 years of marriage that we have not started something new in the fall. I actually didn't even realize it was fall until we arrived at the park this week in shorts, sandals, and t-shirts to find all the other children (very few) in long pants, jackets, and shoes WITH socks. Am I the worst mother in the world?! I didn't bother to check the weather and completely missed that summer is long gone in Minnesota. Sniff, sniff.
School started this week for the older children and all the "regular" stuff (dance classes, preschools etc) for families as well. Because we are moving in 4 weeks (the countdown is now officially on) I haven't registered Reagan in any activities or classes and truthfully, hadn't even thought about it or what we would do when everyone else got back into the routine of things.
We have had a busy summer and although we did miss our friends and family, felt like we were making a good transition to our new area... that was until the fall came and I missed it. Suddenly I am missing old friends, the excitement of a new semester at school, and seeing fellow "school wives". I am also feeling very behind in planning for the fall. I haven't found Halloween costumes for my kids yet (I know most people haven't even thought Halloween but for me this task is usually accomplished by now). Reagan has been asking about her friends from Indiana almost daily and I now I wonder if she doesn't feel the same as I do. Moving has kind of been our thing since she was born.
Anyway, a quick hello to all our friends from school. We love you and miss you!

I have been feeling kind of the same way! Fall is my very favorite time of year, but the weather generally isn't very autumnal here in CA and I am not taking classes this fall quarter -- i have time off to work on my dissertation -- so everyone is gearing up for school, starting classes, and I'm at home writing like I have been all summer. And, Kirk and I are moving (just down the street) in three weeks. So I totally feel where you are! Best of luck! I hope you find joy in the transition.
I can't believe fall is here already. The summer flew by! I hope you can start your fall projects soon! I am sure you will come up with great Halloween costumes!!
lol, and we were got in our long sleeves. Did you notice how hot it was today and suddenly it was freezing after the rain?
I know it's very hard with the more but I am so glad you're here. <3

Hi! It was so fun to see your house and read about how you're doing! WE move in this weekend.
It must be a strange transition going from student life to work life. It will be interesting I am sure, if we ever get there! Good luck with it all. I loved reading about Reagan and Ainsley and seeing their pictures. What sweet girls!
Love ya, Lauren
We miss you guys too! We got back from our internship and everything has changed...but I will say, being a 2nd year is great! Cory's load is much lighter and I actually see him during the week!!!
