CNY 2016 - Shanghai Day 11

In Shanghai they have UberXL which has been so convenient for us.  We took a van with luggage to the airport and I took a taxi with three other kids.  It would be so nice to have this service in Dongguan.  At the airport we stopped at a Dunkin Donut shop.  It was a fun treat.

On our flight home there was a young Chinese couple with a baby.  He was a very happy baby and really darling.  They were trying to say hello to Zach so we had been interacting a little bit.  When the plane took off, their baby became very fussy and I suspected his ears were hurting.  Once we were in the air for a bit he calmed right down.  As we began to land the same fussiness started in.  I felt like I should tell them but was unsure how as I suspected they didn't speak English.  I had the feeling again so I tapped him on the shoulder and using hand signals tried to explain a plane going up and going down and pain in ears for baby.  After a minute or two I could tell the husband understood.  I pointed to a cup to have the baby drink and they immediately gave a drink to their baby and he settled right down.  A few minutes later they turned and thanked me.  It was a good moment to know that I had felt like I needed to do something and then follow through to help someone.  Sometimes, life gets busy and it is hard to listen or maybe even hear these whisperings.

Overall, this was the best trip yet.  As we drove home from Guangzhou we felt like we lived in rural China (compared to Shanghai). Even so, it was nice to be home.  Hopefully, we can have another adventure with the Turners before our time in Asia ends.
