2012 - A Year of New

We did it.  We moved and survived.  Barely.

Now that I have Internet again, and a computer, I will start the catch up process from November on.  I hate getting behind but it is what it is.

In a nutshell:

-The day after Thanksgiving we found out we are expecting baby #4!  Super excited and very overwhelmed.
-The week after Thanksgiving we put our house on the market (so much work!)
-First week of December consisted of showings, Reagan's 6th birthday party, and more showings.
-Second week of December was more showings and two offers.  AWESOME!

I had been praying so hard for patience and gratitude with the showings.  These two weeks were very challenging for me because I was pregnant sick, my kids weren't allowed to touch/play with anything because of the frequency of showings, naps were everywhere - showings, meals were a joke - showings/sickness, and it felt like we were losing Christmas. But, very aware of the blessing of lots of interest in the house.

-We started a new tradition with the 12 Days Before Christmas Secret Family.  To "save" Christmas for our family we decided to pick a family and leave a gift for them, in secret, each day.  It was the best part of Christmas for the entire family.  More on that later.
-Celebrated Christmas.
-Took a quick trip to Duluth.
-Celebrated New Year's with the Berge Family. We had a great time.
-Marcus started his new job on Jan 6th and loves it.  Really really loves it.

I don't know if either of us realized how miserable he was with his last job until he started this job.  He is a different guy.  I am very happy for him and am loving when he comes home full of chatter from his day (challenges/successes).

-Almost the moment Marcus left, we got the flu.  Reagan was first.  I was second.  Will third. Ainsley last.  It was a week long (or more) flu for each of us.  Horrid.  Really horrid.  I haven't been that sick in 6 or 7 years.  We would not have survived without the help of a few meals from friends and the help (cleaning, watching kids, store runs) of my friend Sam. Life Saver.
-My dad came for a planned visit and ended up playing nurse/housekeeper.  When he arrived I was in the middle of the flu, and Will was just beginning.  When I was driving him to the airport, we were holding a bucket for Ainsley in the car:(.  So glad those two weeks are behind me.
-Marcus came home the third week in Jan and we SCRAMBLED to be ready for the movers.  Thank goodness for the movers.
-We pre-signed our closing documents on Jan 23th.
-Movers arrived Jan 24th... also my birthday which I forgot about.
-Loaded the truck on the 25th and started driving to Utah.

And now we are here trying to find our new normal.  Reagan is loving being close to Grandma and Grandpa.  She also really likes her new teacher.  She does miss her friend Brooke, a lot.

Ainsley has been one constant tantrum.  She misses her preschool group and talks about it often.  I suspected this would be hard for her.

Will is thrilled with the new backyard.  He is loving the Utah weather/snow.  He is outside everyday riding bikes and just burning energy.  With that said, he asks us every day if we are going home yet.

I had my first doctors apt with a doctor that I love.  It is the same doctor that delivered Reagan.  After having awful experiences with the last two pregnancies/doctors/midwifes, I am thrilled to enjoy my appointments again.  Oh yes... baby is doing great.  Due date = July 27th.  We are 15 weeks along.

Oh my gosh, Brittanie!! I am exhausted reading this. Congratulations on baby #4!! It sounds as if you could tackle anything now with the months of December and January behind you! I hope Utah will feel like home for your entire family soon.

That sounds like quite the whirlwind!! Congrats on selling your house so quickly. Where in UT did you end up? I must admit that I am jealous of you getting to be so close to your family. That has been hard for me here. I hope everyone transitions well to the new home/ward/job, and I hope all continues to go well with baby!
