April in Minnesota

What a crazy month this has been. We have had a couple of snow storms already and I think we have yet to hit 50 degrees. Luckily, this week things should turn around weather wise. Someone told me the other day that May is usually when spring starts around here and that we are lucky this year that the kids don't have to search for the hidden Easter Eggs in the snow. Are you kidding me?!!!!!

April is turning out to be a great month for progress on our house. We finally made some decisions about work on the basement and we are making progress again. The sheet rock guys finished the job (Hooray!!!) about 30 minutes ago and the first coat of mud is already mostly on. After working very hard on about 1/2 the sheet rock, Marcus was more than happy to hire the rest out. I will have to take some pictures tonight of where we are at since we have tried to document the whole process (I think to remind ourselves of why we won't do this again;)). They said we should be able to start painting next weekend and this is AWESOME! After paint all we need is carpet, doors, and trim work. We are very anxious for this process to end and to unpack after a year of living out of boxes.

This past 9 days our house has been hit with sickness. Reagan started us off with a cold that Ainsley quickly caught. This cancelled our trip to Indiana to visit friends (along with some other challenges) but hopefully we can still make it before they move in May. Marcus and I both caught the cold too but nothing serious.

Ainsley decided to move it up a notch and Monday we found out she had Strep. By Wednesday she was still not getting any better so we are on round two for medicine. In the meantime, Marcus' cold continued getting worse and he finally ended up staying home from work today. He is supposed to sing a musical number for Stake Conference this Saturday (with seven others) so hopefully he will be better by then.

Reagan and I are going stir crazy. Enough said.

The biggest blessing out of all the sickness was being able to enjoy most of General Conference. Both kids were pretty energy-less during three of the four sessions which was great for Marcus and I.

Oh, strep is just miserable. I hope she feels better soon!

I'm so glad that your girls are feeling better. I love the pinewood derby car. I can't wait to see carpet and paint in your downstairs. So Exciting!!
