What a fabulous experience! I love General Conference meetings, in any form. The Women's meeting is no different. Growing up we made great efforts to be available for this meeting and it is a tradition I hope to pass onto my children. This year was especially exciting because it was the first time that all women, age 8 and older, were invited to attend. Reagan turned eight this past fall!
Our stake received an invitation to participate (or apply to participate) in the choir for the meeting but I decided we wouldn't apply because their were six weekend rehearsals that were two hours long and two hours drive from our home. With Marcus in China for two of those weekends, I knew this would not be a possibility for us.
My sister-in-law Becky, was able to get tickets for us all to go to the conference center for the historic meeting. Reagan loved being there. It was so special to watch her experience the feeling of having the prophet walk in and the massive crowd of 20000 people is instantly silent and standing. It is an experience that cannot be explained to a child through words. To be asked to stand and sing with other girls her age and be welcomed to this meeting was awesome. To sit in the presence of a prophet of God, unforgettable.
It was a special experience for Reagan, and for me. One I hope we never forget. I love this gospel. I love the good it brings to children and youth. I love the good it brings to young mothers and old.
