A visit with Aunt Betty

After visiting our cousins we headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  My Aunt Betty was about to celebrate her 85th birthday and we would be missing the party by 1 day so we wanted to make sure and visit her while we were in town to wish her a Happy Birthday.  Plus, she is Aunt Betty and you can't help but love her to pieces.  She is someone I would love to be more like.

She was all ready to see us and had a grocery sack of "special books" she wanted to show the kids.  They were enthralled.  So were the adults.

Then Aunt Betty brought out her "glasses".  We were cracking up.  She was cracking up with us.  Have I mentioned how much we love this woman?!

It was such a lovely afternoon in Nephi.  The kids were able to pet the horses and see other animals.  They loved visiting Aunt Betty, as did I.  Right before we left she brought out a gingerbread house she was given for Christmas and let the kids go at it.  At one point Ainsley was crying because she didn't get a specific candy.  Aunt Betty wasn't cross with her but assured her that she could have as much as she wanted and there was more.  It was so pleasant to be with her and brought back memories from my past (thankfully many of them).
