Homeward Bound

Three weeks after leaving we were on our way back to Minnesota.  Marcus was super disappointed that he missed out on our visit with Frank and Tammi so we were able to arrange our trip home to include a short visit in Idaho Falls.  We had a great time.  The kids were thrilled to be back at Tammi's house.  We were also able to see the new and improved kitchen.  Marcus visited Frank at "the store."  Frank and Marcus spent some time in the coveted music room.  It was an all-around great visit.

We made it to Billings for another quick stop at the Roger home.  We enjoyed an awesome meal and some much needed play time.  All too quickly it was time to jump back in the car and get as far down the road as we could.  We promised the kids we would take them swimming so stopped around 9:30 so the pool wouldn't be closed.  Took the kids swimming at 10pm.  Some might say we are crazy but the swim was only 30 minutes and the kids were out in 5 minutes.  All of them.  Monday we drove hard and made it home around dinner time. 

All in all it was a wonderful trip.  Other than my week-long sickness, things went much better than I expected.  I did miss seeing friends but loved the time we spent with family.  I should do an entire post on the tricks I learned traveling with small children.  Even Marcus was impressed with how well the kids traveled home.  Hopefully, we will be able to do it again sometime.
