I can hardly believe that it is only Tuesday night. I feel like I have had days of whiny, tired children and days of being tired myself. In reality... only two. My patience seems to be so much less when I feel tired.
Reagan has been having bad dreams the past two nights and has ended up in our bed. Will has managed two days with rough naps. Partly my fault (running around) and partly his fault (could he seriously be teething again!?)
Today I took a leap and tried canning strawberry jam. It was disastrous. My house was torn apart (the kitchen by Will and me, the rest of the house by Reagan, Ainsley, and a friend). My stove top stopped working - something about too much water from all the steam... and maybe just too much water?. My outlet next to the stove is no longer working from said water issue. The jars wouldn't stay in the wire thingy because they were too small so that was an entirely different issue that didn't work out so hot either.

In the end I have a stove top that is not working, jam that is questionable as far as the processing goes, and a big mess to clean up. I finally gave up and ordered a pizza for dinner. While I was on the phone with the pizza place Ainsley announced that she had an accident. Awesome.
When I went in to see about the accident I find Ainsley, still wet, doing the hair of a Polly pocket (which is why she missed the toilet in the first place.) I had to take a picture. It seemed so ridiculous.
Marcus came home and saved the day, which is quite common in our house. I am lucky to have him. I took Ainsley to Young Womens and came home to a mostly clean house and a husband that said very matter-of-factly that "I would master canning in no time at all." Then I watched a very uplifting spiritual video that put it all in perspective... again. You really should check it out.
The week has been lousy but my job is perfect. What more could I ask for?

sorry about the jam. I saw the video. Beautifully made.
Oh honey - Don't we all have those? It wouldn't be mommyhood without them. Hope your weekend is a little more relaxing.
That my friend sounds like an awsome day! I'm kidding, but one to remember right? Thank goodness for amazing husbands:)
Oh man. Days like these--for me it's when I look around and cannot spy a single clean surface in my entire house. And since Isaac has become SO much more mobile lately, he's constantly into everything! Ack!
If your jam didn't jell up--hopefully you guys like strawberry syrup!! :-) I remember many a batch of jam that didn't quite work being served up as pancake syrup when I was a kid.
Hang in there!
