As parents, Marcus and I have been working hard to make sure we are eating healthy foods and teaching our kids good food habits. After many discussions with friends and reading books on food we have made some big changes in the way we eat over the last two years.
Mostly it is a return to whole foods, fruits, and vegetables. We really limit our meat and dairy (easy for us because of milk allergy). The end result is that we feel better. We really can feel a difference.
There have been a couple of moments recently that have made me so proud of our family in this effort.
One moment was about two weeks ago when Ainsley was asking for a snack and after listing off several options (all not what she wanted) she finally was thrilled to have black beans fresh from the can. 
The second was when I looked at our dinner table one night and just felt like we did it. Our meal was very healthy but very yummy and Reagan declared me the best cook. 
We are not perfect and still have improvements to make but we are headed in the right direction. Yeah!!!
