Daddy Daughter Campout

Our ward at church holds a campout for Dada and their daughters.  This is cool. I have memories of going to Father Sons campout as a kid.

As a matter of fact in Gillette, WY we went to a campout. I don't recall if my brothers were there. We were exploring and found a huge rock slide. The entire side of this mountain was covered in large rocks. Ranging in size from basketball to small couch. We would jump from rock to rock. Well I had a spill and banged my head. My fried, Ryan Hartman, looked at me with some concern. We decided to go back to camp.

As I approached,  someone saw us and starting saying in an elevated voice,"Look at your head! " As the crowd started to gather I started to feel embarrassed.  Then I felt and saw some blood form on the end of a piece of hair. I started to cry.

They took me to my bishop, Bishop Hartman. He put me up on the tailgate of someone's truck, borrowed some scissors for a quick hair cut, gave me some shots, then proceeded to stich up my head wound. Seven stiches later the excitement was gone and the entire campground returned to their normal activities.

That reminds me of another father son campout fiasco. While living in Soda Springs, ID I was five years old.. My Dad and i drove to the campout. Within a short time of being there I had managed to find a small stream (5 feet wide). It had a small board for crossing. As I began crossing my friend also began crossing from the other side. We both yelled for the other person to look out. We met in the middle while still telling the other person to move. We both lost our balance and fell into the stream and soaked our clothes. I remember going to my Dad crying.  He put me in the car and drove me home. I think he might have left me home after that.

The campout with all the girls was fun. There were tons of other girls there. To be honest I didn't see them a ton. Paige and I hung out at the fire with the other dads. Once we got in the tent around 10:45pm, we played two hands of Uno. We were up around 6:45 am the next day. The day was very rough as we were all short on sleep. Pictures below were from the morning.
