Coaching Soccer

I have had the chance to coach three of Will ' soccer games this year. It has been fun. His team is really good. There are three kids that can really take control and score.
On Saturday we played another team and the score was 11-0. Will scored a goal. Actually in his words the "bad guy" kicked his goal in. Will had kicked it toward the goal and a kid on the other team tried to kick it away and kicked it in the goal. Funny how he calls the other team the bad guys.

I have always wanted to have plays that I could call and have the kids take to a formation.  I was able to make it work with two plays. First one is Great Wall Of China. When ever you want them to make a defensive line I will call out ,"Great Wall Of China!" The kids know to make a line. The other play is the Circle of Trust. After a goal is scored and we line up around the circle I call,"Circle of Trust!" These probably are not good soccer fundamentals but makes coaching soccer fun.

Last formation is the high five line. Probably the most important and often overlooked formation in soccer.

Good tines. Good times...
