We had a great Father's Day. Not sure why, but the Primary kids did not sing to the Dads. It was a big deal to Reagan and she couldn't understand why they wouldn't sing (I had no idea what to tell her either). So, we had our own concert after church. The girls sang I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home. Super cute and mended all sad feelings.
Then we gave presents (mostly clothes) and had a friend over for dinner (his family was out of town for the holiday). It was a great day to celebrate the man in our house that we all love and appreciate. I am more and more grateful for this guy every year. He is a top notch Dad.
Water guns from Reagan and Ainsley
Will is changing every day. He is trying so hard to walk all of the time. Yesterday he crawled 75% of the time and walked 50% of the time. Today he crawled 50% of the time and walked 50% of the time. I am afraid I will have lost my little baby completely by the end of the week.
He is also a morning baby, just like Reagan was. Marcus gets up with him (I say because it is his fault for providing the morning genes)and Will has warmed right up to Daddy from all of the early morning time spent together. I am A-okay with this as long as it means I get some sleep.
Today he clapped for the first time on his own. He loves clapping but has never been interested in doing it himself until today. It was super cute. He is still into everything. EVERYTHING. He can almost open the fridge himself (sniff, sniff). No doubt hard times are ahead with this one. Luckily, he is so darn adorable!
Ainsley is quickly turning into a little girl. She is fire and ice all in one. She can be so adorable and sweet and so mean and vicious in the same five minutes. She is a teaser. Today, when I was brushing her teeth, I had flash backs of my brother Levi again. She has the same teasing-ness in her. It is difficult to explain but just note that she loves, loves, loves getting a reaction out of someone, and pecking until they do react. It brings her great joy.
Two days ago she managed to get into a lipstick I keep in my diaper bag while I wasn't watching. There is a clear part and a colored part. I have never used the color part (Ains used all of it) and turns out it is the kind of lipstick that doesn't come off very easily. We scrubbed and scrubbed but she pretty much looked like this for one entire day. The next day she looked like she had some shabby facial hair.
Ains also rides her big wheel and tricycle very well. Marcus and I don't remember Reagan really being able to ride very well until her two wheel bike with training wheels. Ainlsey has caught on and is anxious for Reagan to get a bigger bike so she can take on the small two-wheeler. Her body has mastered it but her brain is still two. I think the big wheel is good for awhile longer.
Ainsley clapping for Reagan during soccer
She is also my night child. She stays up late at night (luckily, stays in her crib most of the time). She is usually happiest later in the evening as well. She used to be a pure Daddy's girl but is more balanced between us now. She gives great cuddles and I sure love this little lady.
Reagan keeps me on my toes. She asks questions ALL of the time. She is curious and smart and I can hardly keep up with her. My biggest fear is that I won't be able to keep up with her and she will get bored and her love of learning will fade. (Truthfully, I worry that school will have this cause as well but that is an entirely different topic).
She is playing soccer right now and is in a dance class. She pretty much dances on the soccer field. She loves playing goalie, I think because she enjoys weaving her arms in the net. It is fun to see her interacting with others. In her last game she let out a huge squeal/scream when her and another boy were playing a little game of red light green light. She got caught running towards him (he was playing defense and she was the goalie). All the parents were laughing. This is what pee wee soccer is all about!
Reagan is the one with her arms in the air, dancing on the field. Not quite paying attention to the ball, but having a blast!
