Parenting firsts

Reagan cleaning up her crayon art work.

Last month we had a couple of firsts. While I was painting I realized that every closet door had pencil drawing on it. A great heads up that I had a sneaky artist on my hands. I had no clue which girl was responsible until I walked into the bathroom one day to find a lovely blue ring around the sink. For some reason it seemed super funny to me so after I stopped laughing I called Reagan in and explained that she needed to fix it. I gave her a scrubbing sponge and some cleaner and let her at it. It took her quite awhile and took a few helps from mom but she finally got it cleaned.

We talked a little about repentance during the process and she was discouraged part-way through but she was sure proud of herself for finally getting it perfectly clean. The picture still brings a smile to my face. I was proud of her and I haven't noticed any new drawings on the walls:).

Ainsley and her freshly cut hair.

Ainsley has crazy hair. It is beautiful though. When she wakes up in the morning it is especially large and is constantly getting in her face while she is eating (enough so that I am regularly putting her hair in clips while she eats). This experience happened after nap time. Apparently she was trying to color and the front of her hair was getting in her way. You can tell from the picture that she had tried a clip but it didn't work so she just grabbed the scissors and cut the hair off. Luckily, her hair is wild enough that you can't tell.

I cut my bangs off when I was in first grade. Just the middle bangs too. My teacher hadn't said anything, and neither had anyone else. I went home and my mom knew! I was shocked an amazed that she knew I'd cut my hair and I asked her how she knew. She said, "moms just know these things!" and from then on, I thought she was omniscient!

Our best coloring experience was permanent marker on the stone hearth of our fireplace! And we have gone through lots of haircuts! I am amazed you have gone this long before having one! Will is getting so big and cute!!!
