Getting up there

Last week I celebrated yet another birthday. I think it is the most fun to celebrate birthdays with little kids. They get excited for you and just make the day happy.

This year Marcus and Reagan made breakfast while I tried to sleep in (not really possible with an excited 3 year old that wants to give you a play by play of what is happening on your special day). I think I gave up at 7:30 or 7:45 and came out for awesome pancakes and homemade strawberry syrup.

Reagan (with the help of Dad) made me an adorable birthday card. I opened new cooking gadgets (yeah!!!), a new hair straightener (double yeah!!!!) and kitchen notepads all from my family. Next we cleaned our house as a family so mommy would feel awesome with a clean house and left for the mall so I could get some new shoes and the girls could get some play time. Did I mention the high for the day was zero and the windchill was around -30? The store at the mall was having an awesome sale with all the winter clearance and so I managed to not just get new running shoes but also cute snow boots AND nice brown boots. It was GREAT to have a successful shopping trip.

Later in the day our tile guy came over (biggest Yeah of the day) and hopefully we will have our kitchen back splash and fireplace tile completed in the next two weeks. This tile guy is amazing and giving us such a great deal because we are good friends of good friends. This was a huge boost in the "lets finish the house this century" department.

Due to extended stay of tile guy dinner had to be um let's say re decided. We ended up making a quick trip to Red Robin where the girls got to enjoy the singing waiters/waitresses while mommy was embarrassed. After baths we lit up the cherry pie (personally not a huge cake fan and the girls can't have cheesecake so this was a great second) and sang Happy Birthday.

For being a subzero birthday it wasn't too shabby, thanks to a wonderful hubby and darling kiddos!!
