We just got back from our Darrington family reunion in Washington and our Jackson extended family reunion in Idaho last night. I need to document those trips and the fun times had but couldn't resist posting about my darling little boy turning 4 today.
Last night as Marcus and I were frantically cleaning out the car, unpacking, getting as many loads of laundry through as possible (had two kids throwing up the last night of vacation while we were camping...yes, in a tent), and running to the grocery store for birthday meal food and a few other staples we had a little boy that was wide awake thanks to his afternoon nap and very excited for his upcoming birthday just hours away.
Will helped us to tidy up and begged to help decorate for his special day. When I went to grab him to help blow up balloons, he had fallen asleep. This gave me a twinge of sadness. Earlier that day he kept asking me where his presents were. I asked him why he wanted to know and he said that he wanted to go look at them. Of course, what was I thinking?!
This little guy still brings so much life and love into our home. He loves to give tight squeezes, love hits, and plenty of kisses. He loves to be read to, help me in the kitchen, play in the sandbox, and ride bikes or scooters. He also loves baths, LOVES them. He loves our jetted tub in the master bathroom, in fact, that is how he ended his day today.
When I asked Will what he wanted for his birthday breakfast and dinner he responded meat and bananas. Too funny. He is definitely our carnivore. He ended up choosing breakfast burritos (eggs and sausage) and hash browns and juice. For dinner he wanted meat loaf, mashed potatoes, watermelon, carrots and broccoli. Funny kid.
I have to add a funny story about Will and his sandwiches at lunchtime. Whenever we have lunchmeat I try to add lettuce to their sandwiches. Will always gets mad, takes the lettuce off and eats it plain before touching his sandwich. He doesn't want the lettuce on his sandwich but will eat it plain.
Usually we do a special activity on birthdays but today was Sunday and almost the entire family was under the weather so we stayed home, and recovered. Marcus made balloon "birthday swords" that the kids loved and we played pick-up-sticks and UNO, two of Will's favorites.
We are grateful to have this little man in our family. Honestly, I think to myself several times a week, "I don't know what I would do without this kid." We love you Gigamil! Happy Birthday!

I love Will. His hugs are really big. He is so cute and makes me laugh when I pick him up and he tells me he is solid. I love to read to you. I am so glad you are four. Cute kid for sure.
Love Grandma Jackson
