Paige has been searching for her thumb since the moment she was born. She was our only baby sucking her thumb in her ultra sound. She absolutely refuses a binky and has from the beginning. (And boy oh boy have I tried to convince her otherwise.)
Two days ago she finally managed to get her thumb in her mouth and keep it there. She has been consistantly using it the last two days. I tried to stop her. I have pulled her thumb out and tucked her arm in blankets. I have considered putting a mitten on her hand BUT... she is so much more peaceful. She is sleeping during the day. She is happier. She only cries for a few minutes in the car (Thank Heavens!).
And so, we have decided to deal with it later and pray she kicks the habit on her own. (I realize that this is wishful thinking.)

It's a hard call. Mia was a happy peaceful baby...but is still sucking her thumb with no end in sight at 5. Good luck.. P.S. She is beautiful!

My brother showed me how to suck my thumb when I was around 4 or 5 months old. You sucked your thumb. And now Paige. The good times just keep rolling on. Quiet in the car is worth every bit of pain later.
She is so adorable! Marcus helped me stop sucking my thumb. He put hot sauce on it. Good luck on that!
